Check out the 2010 Workshop Schedule:

Gardeners of all experience levels are encouraged to come down to the Hunter Park Community GardenHouse for a full menu of garden workshop options. Join our industry experts and meet the neighbors at any one of the following workshops in the coming months; unless indicated otherwise, these workshops are free to the public (donations appreciated!). Here’s what is coming up in the next few weeks:

Seed Starting, Saturday February 27th, 2-3:30pm

Take control over what you grow this year! Starting your seeds inside allows you to grow more varieties of the crops you love, even the kinds that might take longer than the Michigan soil and climate would otherwise allow. You don’t have to gamble that your favorite pepper and heirloom tomato transplants will be available when you need them this year—start them yourself! Join Linda Anderon Saturday, February 27th from 2-3:30pm at the GardenHouse to learn about seed starting techniques and timing.

Dining From your Backyard: Saturday, March 6th, 2-3:30pm

Lynne Martinez will join us to lead a relaxed and interactive conversation about dining from your back yard, including information on:

*Intensive urban gardening – preparing beds, giving up rows and sequencing planting

*Integrating plantings – mixing flowers, vegetables and herbs for beauty and bountiful harvests

*The joy of “finding” dinner in your garden complementary plantings to satisfy and expand your dining preferences, including recipes

This workshop is also free to the public. Please bring your neighbors down to enjoy an afternoon of garden enlightenment. See you in the GardenHouse!
