Seniors: Help Shape a New Eastside Senior Program

Allen Neighborhood Center is developing an Eastside Living program, loosely modeled after the Beacon Hill Village program, which has operated for ten years in Boston. The concept behind Eastside Living is that people recognize that their housing, health and service needs change as they age. The program responds to this by collectively creating an organization to meet those needs. The program allows seniors to stay connected to friends, participate in their wellbeing and stay safely and satisfyingly in the community. Membership fees support operations. For elders who can’t afford fees, Eastside Living will seek grants and community donations. Adult children often help pay parent’s fees.
