Join us for an evening of wonderful food (Pop up restaurant featuring Building Block Catering) followed by a discussion with Eric Kampe & Paul B. Thompson at the Allen Market Place. Eric runs Ann Arbor Seed Company, a small farm that produces a diverse selection of locally grown vegetable seeds. He has been growing seeds organically since 2007. Eric is passionate about encouraging everyone’s active participation in seed saving, allowing us to observe the beauty of a crop’s entire life-cycle, & connecting us to the selection process that makes truly great produce possible. Paul is the W.K. Kellogg Professor of Agricultural, Food and Community Ethics at MSU. He has served in numerous advisory roles during his nearly 40-year career working with both producers & ag scientists and focused on both large commodity production systems & smaller scale organic & sustainable ag. His work ranges from farming systems & biotechnology to animal welfare. Dinner will be available for purchase from Building Block Catering at the beginning of the event.
