Celebrate the GardenHouse’s 5th Birthday with free cake and garden tours! Our Plant Sale Fundraiser offers multiple tomato, pepper, and eggplant varieties, as well as kale, collards, swiss chard, brussel sprouts, herbs and flowers. Raised Garden Boxes also available (through pre-order only).
Raised Garden Beds are also available for purchase through pre-order. A planting box is just the thing for summer veggies, herbs, and flowers! Raised garden beds solve the issue of amending the soil to make it acceptable for gardening. They lengthen the growing season, help the soil retain nutrients, and reduce the risk of pests and weeds. The boxes are constructed of cedar: a high-value, long-lasting lumber, safe for growing. Please see our Raised Garden Bed Order Form for size and price information. Please allow 1-2 weeks for construction.
Location - Hunter Park GardenHouse is located on the 1400 block E. Kalamazoo Street Lansing, MI 48912. Just off the Clifford Street parking lot, one block south of Kalamazoo.
Your Support Helps – Your plant purchase helps to fund programs that serve our community. We are open 6 days a week to the public, host gardening education workshops, and invite neighbors to buy into a share of local, organically grown seasonal vegetables. Additionally, our Visiting Gardener makes yard-calls to neighbors’ gardens to help them tackle various growing challenges, and serve as a demonstration site for gardening, sustainability, and entrepreneurial projects. Our after school and summer youth programs, Take Root and Youth Service Corps, teach youth job and life skills through community service projects and garden and nutrition education.
Payment – Payment for plant starts may be made via cash, check (payable to Allen Neighborhood Center with GardenHouse Plant Sale in the memo line), or with your EBT/Bridge Cart (veggie & herb starts only).
