Neighbor Café Every few months, Allen Neighborhood Center hosts a neighbor cafe, where neighbors meet to talk and learn about pressing topics in the neighborhood. We invite guest speakers for discussion.

Placemaking

November 8, 2012 - The community came together at Foster Community Center to talk about placemaking, what it looks like, and how to develop placemaking projects in the neighborhood. We also discussed the upcoming Mayor’s Grant Program and other potential placemaking funders. People broke into small group discussions to develop ideas for local placemaking projects.

Dog Safety and Care

July 17, 2012 - Discussion covered responsible care of dogs, facts about the human-canine connection, factors that lead to aggressive behavior, what you can do to ensure safety, and the services offered by the Humane Society and Animal Control.
