New Associate Director Role Set to Expand Org’s Capacity to Better Serve Its Neighbors

LANSING, MI – After 9 years overseeing Outreach and Engagement at Allen Neighborhood Center (ANC), Denise Paquette has announced her plans to retire effective March 31. In her role, Paquette has supervised over one-hundred interns and has helped thousands of neighbors apply for government assistance, repair their homes, broaden their skills and knowledge, and build community.

Former Food Hub Manager Kat Logan is slated to assume a newly created role of Associate Director which will oversee aspects of Outreach while bringing new vision to the way ANC maintains alignment with the needs of its stakeholders.

“I’ve watched Denise support our mission as a role model and mentor to myself, our staff, and her peers since starting my tenure at ANC five years ago. Not only is she highly skilled in her expansive role as Outreach Director, but she also redefines what it means to be a public servant on a near-daily basis. While I will sorely miss her presence here every day, I cannot think of someone more deserving of respite and look forward seeing her enjoy her new role as Neighbor,” stated Executive Director Joe Enerson.

As Paquette transitions away from her full-time role, she looks forward to continuing to support ANC on an as-needed basis consulting on some of its most impactful programs, such as the MSHDA-funded Neighborhood Enhancement Program. She is also excited to spend more time in the home she and her partner have built in the Keweenaw Peninsula.

During the transition period, ANC will begin recruiting to fill Logan’s vacated role overseeing their multi-farm, community supported agriculture program Veggie Box. Those seeking more information about the position are encouraged to email careers@allenneighborhoodcenter.org.

Allen Neighborhood Center is a place-based organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and for activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside.
